Get Packing

This is a project I am currently working on with my friend. He does all the coding and I do all the art. This game that we are very excited about and like to work on.

I'm currently experimenting with Adobe Character Animator to bring our cutscenes to life! It's hard to do but incredibly rewarding.

Succor

Life is exhausting, and sometimes it's a surprisingly hard task just to feed yourself when memories lurk wherever you look.

An introspective interactive fiction game with choice-based decision making and exploration.

The briefing for this game jam was for me to make art that was emotional, connected and most of all relatable to the struggles of a young adult. The game director prompted me to use harsh emotional illustrations for this game, which I turned into the visuals you can see. The demons are inspired by struggles we had all dealt with within the team.

The harsh emotional direction in the game involved creating therapy and suicide monsters with a cartoony style, allowing players to confront real demons in an abstracted art house manner.

This game was made by a team of 3 people including me. I made all the art for Succor. The game was made for a short game jam. Out of the 55 entries we got third place, and first place for graphics/art.

The current and DLC art was later comissioned by the developer Loressa.

Intergrating 3D into 2D workflow

For this project I decided to combine 2D and 3D into a final art piece. I started out simple with a plane and added some walls. I had a clear picture in my head visualising how it needed to look. In the end it got pretty close to what I envisioned.

For the second part I decided to paint textures into Photoshop on top of the graybox. I used the Color blending mode to paint color with the values of the graybox. That way the greybox itself continues to shine through with the values.

In the end I am happy with how my first experiment turned out, and I'm excited to be using this skillset more in future projects.

Pixel Protectors

This is a side project I currently am working on with my friend. We had the idea for a 2D tower defense game in pixelart style. It is showcased in the video.

All the visuals you see in this video are made by me.
